ICE RINK
Over the years the ice rink on the Grote Markt, which in the past years has welcomed some 11,000 skaters, has become an important part of the Ypres end of year celebration. Have fun on the ice until 4 January 2009.

OPENING
Everyone is most welcome to enjoy the full programme scheduled for the festive opening on Friday 4 December between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Amongst others you can witness the inauguration of the new Christmas lights, followed by a performance of Sabien Tiels (‘A Touch of Christmas’) and spectacular fireworks. And obviously everyone can also put on their skates and explore the Christmas market.
Other fun activities include amongst others the French weekend on 12 and 13 December at which a number of weekend trips to Paris will be raffled like last year, the presence of Radio 2 West Flanders on Thursday 17 December with a live transmission of “Avondpost” presenting some Flemish celebrities, etc.
The retailers have also done their best to offer a rich and varied range of products in their store windows. Ypres is the place to be for your Christmas shopping and so much more.
